Matthew L. Harris, Esq.
Chief Attorney
Mr. Harris is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has over 14 years of trial experience in divorce, child custody/support, adoption, and enforcement actions. He has represented clients in countless contested hearings, protective orders, property divisions, and jury trials, as well as handling appeals before the Texas Courts of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Harris served eight years in the United States Air Force as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) member, including combat service in Iraq during the 2003 liberation.


Carrie A. Harris, Esq.
Partner, Business Law Attorney
Carrie Harris is a proud Texas Tech alumna, earning both her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from the university.
With more than a decade of experience in business formations, transactions, and litigation, Mrs. Harris provides comprehensive counsel to small business owners and large companies across West Texas. Her practice includes business entity formation, drafting bylaws and governance documents, mergers and acquisitions, and protecting intellectual property through trademark and copyright law.
She has represented clients in countless negotiations, mediations, contested hearings, and jury trials, earning a reputation for practical, results-driven advocacy.


Taylor S. Moore, Esq.
Personal Injury Attorney
Taylor Moore Mrs. Moore practices Personal Injury Law, advocating for individuals injured in car wrecks, 18-wheeler accidents, and similar cases to ensure they receive fair compensation from insurance companies. She also handles a wide range of civil litigation matters, including breach of contract, DTPA claims, and real property disputes.
Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in History from Texas Tech University before continuing on to obtain her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she also completed a Business Law Concentration.


Colton M. Sniegowski, Esq.
Family Law Attorney
Mr. Sniegowski grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved to Lubbock in 2018. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center before completing his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. Mr. Sniegowski obtained immense experience in Family Law as a Mediator for the Lubbock County Office of Dispute Resolution. Mr. Sniegowski is often praised for his dedication to detail, his persistent pursuit of knowledge, and his innate ability to listen. You can trust that your family is in good hands with Mr. Sniegowski fighting for you in the courtroom.


Caroline E. Ford, Esq.
Family Law Attorney
Caroline Ford grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Frisco, Texas. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University before completing her Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Texas Tech University School of Law.
Caroline recently joined the firm as a Family Law Attorney. She gained invaluable experience in Family Law during her law school career as a Mediator for the Lubbock County Office of Dispute Resolution. Mrs. Ford is known for her diligence, attention to detail, and desire to always learn more. You can trust that your family is in good hands with Mrs. Ford advocating for you in and out of the courtroom.


Kathryn “Kate” Settle, Esq.
Family Law Attorney
Kate Settle was raised in McKinney, Texas and is a Texas Tech University alumna, completing both her Bachelor of History and Political Science and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence degrees at the university.
Kate is dedicated to guiding individuals through some of life’s most personal and difficult transitions. With a focus on divorce, custody, and other family-related matters, she offers clients not only legal expertise but also empathy, clarity, and strong advocacy.
Each case is approached with care and attention, recognizing that no two families or situations are alike. Kate takes the time to listen, understand each client’s goals, and develop strategies tailored to their unique needs. Her approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and a steadfast commitment to helping clients protect what matters most.


Emily Walterscheid, PP, CLP
Chief Paralegal
Emily Walterscheid is the Chief Paralegal at Matthew Harris Law, PLLC, where she plays a vital leadership role in both client services and internal operations. A proud West Texas native, Mrs. Walterscheid, began her legal career in 2007 as a legal assistant and joined Matthew Harris Law in January 2012.
Mrs. Walterscheid holds professional certifications as a Certified Legal Professional (CLP) and a Professional Paralegal (PP) through the National Association of Legal Secretaries (NALS), where she also serves on the Board of Directors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in legal studies and later completed her master’s degree in paralegal studies, further enhancing her legal knowledge and leadership capabilities.


Erika Zapata
Personal Injury Paralegal
Erika Zapata is a Personal Injury Paralegal at Matthew Harris Law, where she assists with obtaining medical records, preparing cases for trial, and communicating with everyone from medical providers to clients. Known for her tenacity, professionalism, and positive attitude, Mrs. Zapata strives to give each client the best service.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas in 2002. During the pandemic, Mrs. Zapata returned to school and received her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from South Plains College in 2023. The same year, she was awarded as Outstanding Student in Paralegal Studies.


Robyn Taylor
Family Law Legal Secretary
Robyn Taylor is a Legal Secretary at Matthew Harris Law, PLLC, where she serves as a key point of contact for clients. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2019 and has worked in the legal field since then, bringing with her a strong background in organization, communication, and client service.
Robyn is dedicated to helping families who are facing difficult times.
Robyn joined Matthew Harris Law in 2023 and is known for her attention to detail, compassionate approach, and ability to provide efficient, high-quality support in a fast-paced legal environment. Her professionalism and dedication help ensure that clients feel supported and confident throughout the legal process.


Dahlia Islas
Business Law Legal Secretary
Ms. Islas is the legal secretary in the Business Law Division at Matthew Harris Law. Her professionalism, kindness, and eagerness for knowledge makes her a great addition to Matthew Harris Law. She strives to learn and takes every opportunity to grow in knowledge. You can always catch her wearing a smile.
Ms. Islas was raised in West Texas. She graduated from Shallowater High School and then continued her education at Texas Tech University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in history. Ms. Islas has always had an interest in the legal field and after several years, she returned to school and earned an associate’s degree in paralegal studies.


Brett Harris
IT & Media Specialist
Brett Harris is the Information Technology & Media Specialist for Matthew Harris Law. Born in East Texas in a military family, he lived in Tennessee and California before making it back to Texas. He ultimately graduated from Coronado High School with Honors.
Mr. Harris joined Matthew Harris Law in 2020, and since then has grown the Firm’s YouTube Channel from 25 subscribers to now over 65,000. He also produces the Firm’s commercials, radio ads, and other multimedia projects within the Firm. He has been instrumental in expanding the use of technology in ways that no other Firm has considered which has helped to win more cases.
