Get to Know Matthew


Matthew Harris is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has over 14 years of trial experience in divorce, child custody/support, adoption, and enforcement actions. He has represented clients in countless contested hearings, protective orders, property divisions, and jury trials, as well as handled appeals before the Texas Courts of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
In addition to leading the law firm since 2011, Matthew has served as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Tech University School of Law, teaching Law Office Management.
Before becoming an attorney, Matthew served eight years in the United States Air Force as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) member, including combat service in Iraq during the 2003 liberation.

Hobbies & Fun Facts
Prior to attending law school, Matthew was a Reserve Police Officer in Clarksville, TN while stationed at nearby Fort Campbell, KY. Matthew completed Army Air Assault School, and Army Airborne School while attached to the fabled 101st Airborne Division. Matthew was also selected as the sole Airman from the 101st to parachute into Normandy, France for the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion.
Matthew holds a private pilot’s license, so you might find him flying around West Texas in his free time. He’s also an avid traveler who has visited all 50 U.S. States, most Canadian Provinces, and multiple countries around the world.
Matthew has been married to his high school sweetheart, Carrie, since 2001. They have a son, daughter-in-law, and multiple furry and feathered pets.
